Elect James Hemphill for US Congress

Leadership. Trust. Experience.

Saying No To the Status Quo
I’m James, and I’m not your typical candidate—and that’s exactly the point. I was raised in the heart of the ghetto, where struggle wasn’t a slogan—it was daily life. I’ve seen what government neglect looks like. I’ve lived the consequences of broken promises and failed policies. And I’m running because it’s time for leadership that doesn’t just talk about the people—it comes from the people.

I’m a conservative because I believe in personal responsibility, strong families, faith, and freedom. I’m a Republican because I refuse to let anyone tell me what I’m supposed to think based on where I come from or the color of my skin. I’m here to challenge the narrative, shake up the system, and bring real solutions to communities that have been ignored for far too long.

Why I’m Stepping Up
Our neighborhoods don’t need more handouts—we need hand-ups. We need safer streets, better schools, and jobs that build dignity, not dependency. We need leaders who understand that real change starts with accountability, not excuses. I’m not backed by lobbyists or party elites—I’m backed by the people who know what it means to hustle, sacrifice, and survive. And I’m here to fight for policies that empower—not control—our communities.

This Is Our Moment
This campaign is about rewriting the playbook. If you’re tired of being taken for granted, if you’re ready to see real results instead of recycled rhetoric, then you’re in the right place. Whether you’re here to volunteer, donate, or just learn more, I welcome you. Let’s build a movement that speaks truth, stands firm, and never backs down. The hood deserves a seat at the table—and I’m bringing it.

I’m running to fight for:

  •       Gun rights—because law-abiding citizens deserve the right to protect themselves and their families
    •      School choice—because every child deserves access to quality education, no matter their zip code
    •      Secure borders—because national security starts with knowing who’s coming in and why
    •      Economic empowerment—because small businesses and hard work should be rewarded, not regulated into extinction
    •      Criminal justice reform—because second chances should lead to real change, not permanent punishment
  •         Ensuring every veteran has a home—no service member should ever served to protect this nation’s prosperity and not be afforded the dignity of a place to call home.

Why I am running

I'm running for Congress because I’ve lived the consequences of broken policies—and I refuse to let the next generation inherit the same failures.

I’m not a career politician. I’m a general contractor, a small business owner, and a man who’s walked through fire. I spent time in federal prison, and I came out determined to rebuild—not just my life, but my community. I founded Color of Conservatism to empower at-risk youth and reconstruct African American neighborhoods devastated by decades of liberal neglect.

I believe in redemption. I believe in responsibility. And I believe that conservative values—faith, family, freedom, and free enterprise—are the keys to restoring dignity and opportunity in every corner of this country.

But I’m not just running to represent one district—I’m running to help unite our nation, starting with the neighborhoods that have been ignored, exploited, and written off. I’m bringing conservative principles into Black communities—not to lecture, but to listen, to lead, and to liberate. Because these values aren’t exclusive—they’re empowering. And they belong to all of us.

This campaign is about bridging divides—not deepening them. It’s about showing that conservative values can uplift every community, regardless of race, background, or zip code.

I’m running to give a voice to those who’ve been ignored, underestimated, and written off. I’m running to prove that leadership doesn’t come from privilege—it comes from perseverance.

This isn’t just a campaign. It’s a movement. And I’m asking you to stand with me.
